The Nordic Africa Institute aims to contribute to building academic capacity and producing extensive knowledge about Africa. It endeavors to foster and enhance relations between African and Nordic research communities by providing resources, opportunities for networking, and stimulating research environments.
The African Guest Researchers’ Scholarship Programme is designed to support early career researchers from Africa in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities. It offers a conducive research environment at the Nordic Africa Institute, including access to its specialized library, accommodation, financial support, and opportunities for networking. The programme seeks to facilitate the scholars in working and developing their ongoing research, aiming to build knowledge capacity about Africa and strengthen ties between African and Nordic scholars. The scholarships allow for stays between 60 to 90 days, excluding certain periods due to reduced academic activity. Financial benefits include return airfare, a daily subsistence allowance, an installation grant, and a workspace with computer facilities. Guest Researchers can also present their research and access other Nordic academic institutions.
