The grant program seeks to support PLTW (Project Lead The Way) Gateway programs in schools, particularly those interested in starting or expanding their programs. Focusing on middle school students, PLTW Gateway aims to empower students through a hands-on program encompassing computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. This initiative is designed to boost classroom engagement, drive collaboration, and inspire deep comprehension and excitement about future educational paths and possibilities. Through this grant, the Duke Energy Foundation aims to enhance STEM education during a crucial time of exploration and growth in students' lives.

Review Criteria

Priority will be granted to schools predominantly serving students from high-need backgrounds, as indicated by the percentage of students qualifying for the free and reduced lunch program.
