The Mini-Grants Program offers seed funding to empower small-scale projects with a focus on enhancing safe, clean drinking water, water conservation, flood protection, and environmental stewardship within Santa Clara County. It targets projects that encourage long-term community engagement in these areas. Eligible initiatives can range from school or community gardens, watershed education field trips, water conservation workshops, to small-scale habitat restoration efforts. Funding comes from the Safe, Clean Water and Natural Flood Protection Program, approved by Santa Clara County voters in 2020. Projects must benefit Santa Clara County in specific ways, such as enhancing ecosystems, improving fish habitats, pioneering water reduction technologies, preventing water pollution, expanding public access to trails and green spaces, and raising community awareness and education on these topics.
