The Society for the Teaching of Psychology (STP), Division 2 of the American Psychological Association, is committed to supporting and enhancing the teaching of psychology. They aim to encourage educational excellence, foster an inclusive and equitable academic environment, and promote the professional development of psychology educators. They are also focused on addressing systemic racism and inequity within their scope, advocating for diversity and inclusion in the field.
The grant program aims to fund research projects in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) within the field of psychology. It is designed to support projects at any stage of development, including materials design, data collection, and manuscript writing. Priority is given to projects with a high probability of producing a publishable product in a peer-reviewed outlet. The program encourages applications from STP members who are from underrepresented backgrounds and are teaching psychology at various educational levels, including 4-year colleges, 2-year colleges, and high schools. Funding can be used for a variety of research-related expenses, such as materials, participant incentives, travel for collaboration, stipends, and travel to present research findings. A total of $10,000 is available for distribution among selected proposals, with the possibility of partial funding.
