The Textbook & Academic Authors Association (TAA) aims to provide professional development resources, events, and networking opportunities specifically for textbook authors and authors of scholarly journal articles and books. Founded in 1987, TAA stands as the only national, nonprofit membership association exclusively supporting textbook and academic authors, enhancing their career and publishing success.
TAA offers two types of grants to support both members and non-members in publishing academic works and textbooks. The Publication Grants are designed to cover expenses related to the publication of academic books, textbooks, or journal articles. Contract Review Grants aim to reimburse costs for legal review of contracts involving textbook or scholarly works that include royalty arrangements. The value of these grants varies based on the applicant's membership status and duration with TAA, with the maximum grant amount ranging from $300 to $1,000.
