The BSF aims to support scientific excellence and collaboration between Israeli and American scientists within various research areas. This mission is realized through funding programs that encourage cooperation and innovation in the scientific community.
The Prof. Rahamimoff Travel Grants Program is designed for PhD students whose research necessitates the use of facilities or expertise that is unavailable in their home country. It enables these scholars to travel to higher education or research facilities in either the U.S.A. (for Israeli students) or Israel (for American students), supporting trips that can last up to 2 months. This initiative honors the legacy of Prof. Rami Rahamimoff, a significant figure in the BSF and the scientific and medical communities, by fostering international scientific collaboration and advancing the research opportunities for young scientists.
