The NIH Research Education Program (R25) aims to support educational activities that improve the understanding of biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research on alcohol and other substance use disorders. It seeks to engage health care professionals in education on the neurobiology, epidemiology, prevention, and treatment of these disorders and related health conditions. The ultimate goal is enhancing care for individuals who use alcohol and other substances. This is achieved by focusing on Outreach and supporting projects that convey current and emerging scientific insights to the medical community.
