The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency — making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.
The overarching goal of the NIDCD R25 program is to support educational activities geared towards recruiting individuals with specific specialties or disciplinary backgrounds into research careers within biomedical, behavioral, and clinical sciences. This focus is achieved by providing research experiences and educational career development activities. Specifically, the program aims to offer medical students and resident investigators in otolaryngology mentored research experiences and career development activities, thereby preparing them for deeper research endeavors and careers in research.
