The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency — making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.
The broad goals of the IDeA-CTR initiative are to expand the capacity for clinical and translational research in IDeA-eligible states/jurisdictions, enhance the competitiveness of investigators to obtain extramural funding for clinical and translational research, and to provide cooperative agreement support for the development of statewide and/or interstate regional networks. These networks aim to: support the development/enhancement of infrastructure and human resources for clinical and translational research needs in IDeA-eligible states/jurisdictions; strengthen research addressing health challenges in these areas; and foster collaboration within an IDeA-CTR network and with other institutions.
