The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency — making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.
This grant program is designed to support multi-site exploratory and confirmatory clinical trials related to stroke, including interventions, biomarker or outcome measure validation studies that are preparatory for trials in stroke prevention, treatment, and recovery, as well as ancillary studies adding scientific aims to active studies within StrokeNet. The program aims to facilitate collaboration within the NIH StrokeNet, where the National Coordinating Center (NCC) and National Data Management Center (NDMC) will provide implementation, statistical, and data management support. The Regional Coordinating Centers (RCCs) along with their affiliated clinical sites will assist with recruitment, retention, and on-site implementation of clinical protocols.
