We deliver conservation solutions so agricultural producers can protect natural resources and feed a growing world.
The Joint Chiefs' Landscape Restoration Partnership seeks to enhance conservation and restoration efforts on a scale significant enough to enact real change. It is a collaborative endeavor between the NRCS, the Forest Service, agricultural producers, and forest landowners to address and mitigate wildfire threats, safeguard water quality and supplies, and enhance wildlife habitats for species at risk. Central to this partnership is the implementation of targeted forestry management practices by landowners, including thinning, hazardous fuel treatments, and the creation of fire breaks, tailored to address unique forestry challenges within their localities. In 2023, the partnership is set to invest over $48.6 million in projects aimed at mitigating wildfire risks, improving water quality, restoring forest ecosystems, and contributing to the fight against climate change. This investment includes funding for 14 new projects that bring together agricultural producers, forest landowners, and National Forest System lands to improve forest health through the use of Farm Bill conservation programs and other resources.
