UT Agricultural Management Assistance Grant

From USDA: Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)

We deliver conservation solutions so agricultural producers can protect natural resources and feed a growing world.

Type of Support

Overview

The Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) Program aims to help agricultural producers manage financial risk by encouraging diversification, marketing, or the adoption of natural resource conservation practices. Specifically, it supports activities such as constructing or improving water management or irrigation structures, planting trees for windbreaks or to improve water quality, and mitigating risk through practices such as soil erosion control, integrated pest management, or transitioning to organic farming. AMA provides financial assistance covering up to 75 percent of the installation cost of these conservation practices, with a cap of $50,000 per participant per fiscal year. The program targets a wide array of conservation practices and offers higher cost-share rates for historically underserved producers.
