Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants in West Virginia

From USDA: Rural Development (RD)

We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.

Type of Support

Overview

This grant program assists communities in preparing for or recovering from emergencies that compromise access to clean, reliable drinking water. It supports a variety of causes including recovery from natural disasters like droughts, floods, earthquakes, and disease outbreaks, without the need for a federal disaster declaration. The program offers two types of grants: water transmission line grants of up to $150,000 for repairs and maintenance of water distribution systems, and water source grants up to $1,000,000 for constructing water sources or treatment facilities. The goal is to restore or prevent damage to households and businesses' drinking water access in eligible rural areas, thereby also supporting environmental improvements and economic development.
