Type of Support

Overview

This program is designed to support the development and maintenance of essential sanitary and storm water infrastructure in eligible rural areas. Its primary focus is on providing clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage for households and businesses. The grant funds can be used for a wide range of activities, including but not limited to the acquisition, construction, or improvement of drinking water sourcing, treatment, storage, and distribution systems; sewer collection, transmission, treatment, and disposal systems; solid waste collection, disposal, and closure processes; and storm water collection, transmission, and disposal systems. Additional eligible uses of funds include legal and engineering fees, land acquisition, water and land rights, permits, equipment, start-up operations and maintenance, interest incurred during construction, and the purchase of facilities to improve service or prevent loss of service, among other necessary project completion costs.
