Type of Support

Overview

The Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants program assists eligible rural communities in preparing for, or recovering from, emergencies that threaten the availability of safe, reliable drinking water. The program supports a range of disasters including droughts, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes or hurricanes, disease outbreaks, and chemical spills. Funding may be used for projects like water transmission line construction up to $150,000 and water source projects up to $1,000,000, including constructing water intake or treatment facilities. This initiative seeks to prevent damage or restore access to clean water, improve natural environments, and encourage business growth in affected areas. Applications are accepted year-round, online or through local RD offices.
