Dresner Foundation Grants

The mission of the foundation is to continue the legacy of Joseph and Vera Dresner, aiming to improve the lives of people and animals in their communities. The foundation serves as a channel for philanthropy focused on providing resources to underserved individuals and empowering community members through partnerships with a range of organizations including hospitals, community centers, and other nonprofits.

The grant program seeks to empower community members to benefit from investments made, partnering with organizations committed to creating opportunities for the underserved. It aims to provide necessary resources for organizations to continue vital services for those most in need, promoting innovative approaches and broad-scale adoption of creative thinking through direct grant making. Support is offered for project development, capital (equipment purchase, construction/renovation of facilities), and special circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Focus areas include health, particularly Myelodysplastic Syndromes research and improving access and outcomes in healthcare; youth and family, supporting disadvantaged and special needs children in self-discovery, and family strengthening through academic, artistic, and social enrichment programs; and animal welfare, ensuring organizations have resources for care, shelter, and related public education initiatives.
