The mission of the Alabama State Council on the Arts is to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality for all Alabamians by providing support for the state’s diverse and rich artistic resources.
The grant program prioritizes projects that support excellence and professionalism in the arts, provide high-quality arts education, offer art experiences to all Alabamians, preserve folk art traditions, promote cultural diversity in art, drive economic vitality through the arts, and increase public recognition for artists and organizations. Funded activities include festivals, performances, research, exhibitions, readings, competitions, theatrical productions, classes, workshops, creation of art, and related symposia or conferences.
