The American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) aims to spearhead advancements in human genetics and genomics research and its applications. Established in 1948, it supports new discoveries and applications in the field through leading research, education, and service. The ASHG annually gathers a large community at its meetings and contributes to scholarly communication through its journal.
The HGG Advances Award for Outstanding Early Career Publication supports the recognition of exceptional contributions to the field of human genetics by early career investigators. Eligible recipients are those with no more than five years of research experience post-postdoctoral training or its equivalent, and must be members of ASHG at the time of acceptance. Annually, two awards are given, each including a monetary reward of $1,000 and a certificate, presented at the ASHG Annual Meeting. This initiative underscores the importance of early career contributions to the advancement of genetic and genomic research.
