Now in its fourth decade, the Arts Council New Orleans is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in New Orleans by supporting, activating, and investing in the city's artists, cultural producers, and creative community. The Council envisions a New Orleans where arts and culture play a pivotal role in all areas of policy, planning, and placemaking, aiming for a more equitable, joyful, and resilient city.
The Community Arts Grants (CAG), funded by the City of New Orleans, support 501(c)(3) arts non-profits domiciled in Orleans Parish through the New Orleans as Cultural Capital category. The program aims to support a wide range of arts activities that positively impact the residents of Orleans Parish. It is built on the belief that all citizens should have the opportunity to engage in a creative life and that the arts foster a vibrant and equitable community. The grants celebrate the diverse cultures and art forms of the community, contributing to a broader understanding and appreciation of humanity.
