The mission of the Black United Fund of Oregon is to assist in the social and economic development of Oregon's underserved communities and contribute to a broader understanding of ethnic and culturally diverse groups. Their ultimate goal is to increase post-secondary opportunities for youth, support Nonprofit Leadership Program by directing funds to BIPOC and/or female-led and -serving organizations that provide vital resources to the community, and contribute to a broader understanding of ethnic and culturally diverse groups through Community Justice & Equity initiatives.
The Nonprofit Leadership Program offers a $10,000 grant and enrollment in a specialized leadership program to three selected organizations. This year-long commitment is designed specifically for Oregon's BIPOC- and women-led grassroots nonprofits, aiming to enhance their growth, stability, and success. Participants are expected to engage in monthly meetings and independent learning. The program includes a focused curriculum on fund development, operations, organizational structure, programs, and marketing, with the aim of equipping BIPOC-led and -serving grassroots organizations with the necessary resources and knowledge to scale and thrive. The program leverages a cohort model for learning, offers personalized consulting from a Board of Advisors with expertise in the nonprofit sector, and is provided by S2B Brand Hospital.
