Established by the State of California in 1976, the California Arts Council is a state agency with a mission of strengthening arts, culture, and creative expression as the tools to cultivate a better California for all.

Type of Support

Overview

The State-Local Partner Mentorship (SLP-M) program aims to foster the creation of county-designated local arts agencies in Alpine, Glenn, Kings, and San Joaquin counties where such an agency is currently absent. This initiative targets supporting arts and cultural activities across entire counties by providing financial support, services, and programming. The program enables existing State-Local Partners to mentor and develop new SLPs in these areas, ensuring support for a wide array of arts organizations, individual artists, and the community at large. Eligible applicants must be current grantees in the CAC State-Local Partners Program.
