The Wildlife Conservation Board protects, restores and enhances California’s spectacular natural resources for wildlife and for the public’s use and enjoyment in partnership with conservation groups, government agencies and the people of California.
The Desert Conservation Program aims to protect, preserve, and restore the natural, cultural, and physical resources of the Mojave and Colorado Deserts region in California. It focuses on land acquisition, restoration, and management to promote biological diversity, climate resilience, improved air and water quality, and enhanced public use of lands. Eligible projects include land acquisition for wildlife corridors and culturally significant sites, vegetation restoration, invasive species control, and scientific studies for species recovery.
