Overview

The Wavemaker Arts Grants aim to support non-profit organizations that provide arts and culture programming in Tempe, with a focus on inclusivity. These grants are designed to advance Tempe as a vibrant and progressive hub for cultural and artistic activities. The grant supports initiatives such as increasing and promoting Community-Initiated Arts projects, supporting community festivals that celebrate cultural diversity, and continuing, expanding, and enhancing informal arts programming in community settings. Funding, which can be up to $10,000, is available for a variety of project types, including performances, residencies/workshops, and festivals. Projects must occur in Tempe between August 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024, and can cover expenses like artist fees, supplies, production costs, space rental, and marketing.

Parent teacher organizations (e.g., booster clubs, PTA or PTO)
Projects associated with universities or colleges
Projects funded by a TCC Grant or a Neighborhood Grant
For-profit organizations or organizations that are incorporated for religious purposes or projects that focus on religious themes
An organization or learning institution’s administrative or artistic staff salaries
Grant administration, overhead or processing fees taken by an umbrella/parent organization as a percentage of the total award
Fundraising, re-granting, scholarship programs or awards
An applicant who failed to submit a Final Report from a previously funded grant.
