The mission of the Colorado Health Foundation is to improve the health of Coloradans. It operates on three cornerstones: serving Coloradans with less power, privilege, and income, especially prioritizing those of color; being informed by the community it aims to serve; and focusing all efforts towards creating health equity.
This grant program is designed to support high-quality, high-impact youth programs that promote physical well-being through holistic, culturally responsive, and youth and family-driven approaches. It prioritizes proposals that center youth of color, as well as programs serving girls, youth with disabilities, and LGBTQ youth. The funding focuses on two pathways: Scaling existing programs that are ready to expand access and opportunities for priority populations, and enhancing the capacity of programs to deepen their practice and expertise to serve the needs of these populations more effectively. Grant amounts range from $50,000 to $200,000 over two years, targeting youth-serving nonprofit organizations, government entities, schools, and community collaborators. The programs must address factors creating barriers to good physical health, be inclusive of cultural identity, and driven by youth and their families.
