Overview

The grant program guided by the Melvin R. Lane Fund aims at strengthening human service organizations by providing Capacity Building grants. These grants, ranging from $90,000 to $180,000 over three years, are intended to enhance the operational effectiveness of organizations, foster collaboration, and ensure their sustainability. Specifically, the grants support efforts in Western North Carolina to better serve disadvantaged communities. Applicants are encouraged to seek funding amounts that reflect their operational budget size, and participating organizations may be expected to engage in annual convening sessions and an evaluation process that could extend beyond the grant period.
