The Dignity for All: LGBTQI+ Assistance Program, led by a consortium of six human rights and LGBTQI+ organizations, aims to support the LGBTQI+ movements through rapid-response financial assistance for at-risk individuals and CSOs, project funding for timely initiatives, and safety and security trainings. This initiative is designed to bolster efforts that advance LGBTQI+ rights and protect activists and organizations from threats.
The Rapid Response Financial Assistance Grants program, facilitated by Dignity for All since 2012, aims to provide immediate, short-term emergency funding to human rights defenders (HRDs), civil society organizations (CSOs), and survivors of severe state persecution (SSP) across 97 countries and territories. These grants are specifically designed to offer assistance in urgent situations of threat arising from the advocacy or promotion of LGBTQI+ human rights. The grant supports a variety of needs, including legal representation, prison visits, trial monitoring, temporary relocation, support for dependents, security measures, equipment replacement, and medical expenses. A qualifying emergency is defined as an urgent threat to an HRD or CSO for their work on LGBTQI+ issues, occurring within the last three months, and can originate from state or non-state actors, or even family and community members.
