The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life in the Duluth Superior region through the establishment and administration of endowed funds created by individuals, families, private foundations, and businesses. Since 1983, it has distributed over $40 million in grants and scholarships, managing more than 360 funds for various charitable purposes.

The Community Opportunity Fund with a Belonging Focus by the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation strives to create a regional atmosphere where all individuals are respected, safe, and capable of thriving. Influenced by New Pluralists, this grant program aims to support efforts that: enhance diversity, expand community inclusion, honor individual worth, address historical injustices, promote equity, and foster cultures of collaboration and mutual respect. It emphasizes systemic change, deep community engagement, continuous learning, human-centric approaches, and collaboration to achieve these goals, potentially involving a cohort model to advance shared objectives.
