To advance geoscience research and discovery, service to society, stewardship of Earth, and the geosciences profession.
The Richard Hay Student Paper/Poster Award is designed for undergraduate or graduate students presenting a paper or poster in geoarchaeology at the annual GSA meeting. This travel grant honors Richard Hay's notable contributions to sedimentary geology, mineralogy, and archaeological geology, especially his work at significant hominin-bearing sites. The award aims to cover a portion of the costs associated with attending and presenting at the GSA meeting. Recipients are chosen by the Geoarchaeology Division Awards Committee, based on the scientific merit and clarity of their research and abstracts.
