Silver Friends Golden Paws Senior Pet Care Grant Program

From Greene County Community Foundation

The mission of the Greene County Community Foundation, as indicated by the legacy and actions of Priyakant “P.K.” Desai, is to support community initiatives and development through funding programs that have a tangible impact on solving problems and delivering services.

Type of Support

Overview

The grant program from Greene Giving is envisioned to support senior pet owners under specific circumstances such as those living on limited incomes, those for whom their pet is a primary companion, and those facing situations like abuse or extenuating circumstances beyond their control, excluding seniors with bad debt related to veterinary care. The broad goals include aiding in the costs of services and medications, follow-up care from surgery complications, and, as a last resort, euthanasia. Priority is given to services provided by Veterinarians affiliated with specific humane and no-kill organizations, and the process involves the issuance of a voucher for use at a veterinary clinic of the pet owner's choice.
