The Bryan Area Foundation and its affiliate Foundations are dedicated to improving and enriching life in Williams County by connecting people, ideas, needs, and charitable resources. Its aim is to foster community enhancement, pride, education, creativity, and positive life changes, having contributed over $13.4 million to community projects and scholarships since 1969.

Applicants are required to meet with the President/CEO 30 days before the grant deadline, emphasizing the foundation's commitment to understanding and addressing real community needs through collaborative efforts.

Organizations that received a BAF grant for the same/similar project in the last 12 months.

Review Criteria

The Bryan Area Foundation favors funding requests that:

  • Forge new, imaginative, and viable responses to both present and forthcoming challenges within the community
  • Initiate initiatives that significantly improve the community's overall well-being
  • Promote acts of volunteerism as well as civic and communal engagement
  • Enhance the delivery of social services through kindness, effectiveness, and accountability
  • Address the prevention and/or resolution of societal issues
  • Assist in establishing enduring assets for the physical community
  • Ensure the effective and prudent use of funds, with an expectation that initiatives will sustain themselves beyond the grant period
  • Contribute to the coordination of services, ensuring that efforts are not duplicated and are efficiently rendered
  • Leverage the value of the grant with matching funds from other sources
