Overview

The grant program offered by Impact San Antonio targets nonprofit organizations seeking to implement projects within five specific focus areas: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Recreation & Preservation, Family, and Health & Wellness. These projects should aim to cultivate and improve the cultural and artistic climate, advance learning opportunities and education, improve and conserve the environment, enhance the lives of children and families, and positively impact health and wellness. An organizational questionnaire is a prerequisite to submitting a full project application, ensuring that only qualified agencies progress through the evaluation process.

  • Primary or significant operations within Bexar, Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina, and Wilson counties in Texas
  • Project must serve residents within Impact San Antonio’s Service Area
  • Projects must be: a new program; an expansion of an existing program; or a capital investment/construction project
  • Projects must primarily serve residents located within Impact San Antonio’s Service Area
  • Eligible projects must fall within one or more of these five focus areas: Arts and Culture, Education, Environment, Recreation and Preservation, Family, Health and Wellness
  • Project must be completed within 24 months after October 31 of the award year
  • Projects should address a critical need, improve quality of life, benefit a large or significantly impacted population, introduce an innovative approach or build on successful ones, and result in measurable outcomes

Ineligibility

- Engages in politically partisan activities
- Engages in political lobbying, except for certain advocacy activities
- Supports or opposes any candidate for public office
- Is a labor or fraternal organization
- Is an athletic or social club or association
- Primary purpose is to redistribute funds to other organizations or individuals, with exceptions for "Supporting Organizations" and "Fiscal Sponsors"
- Project requires belief in/participation in specific faith activities for benefits
- Project limits benefits based on religious beliefs or practices
- Project makes benefits dependent on participation in proselytizing activity
- Requests funds from Impact San Antonio other than $100,000
- Requests funds primarily for fundraising, marketing, advertising events, or sponsorships
- Requests funds to repay existing loans or financing
- Requests funds for an endowment
- Requests funds for a scholarship
- Requests funds for unrestricted/general operational costs, beyond $10,000 for indirect expenses
- Requests funds for a political purpose.
