The San Marcos Community Foundation (SMCF) is committed to enhancing the quality of life in San Marcos by functioning as a nonprofit public benefit corporation. It provides financial and other support to programs that benefit the city or its residents, thanks to an endowment fund established with a contribution from the builders of the North County Energy and Resource Recovery Center.
The grant program of the SMCF focuses on supporting nonprofit groups that serve the residents of San Marcos, aligning with the foundation's broad goal of improving community well-being. The foundation awards grants to a wide array of nonprofit organizations targeting different sectors, including health & well-being, children & youth, seniors, civic life, and education. They offer Regular Grants ranging from $1,500 to $10,000 for agencies interested in applying. This grant program underscores the foundation's commitment to addressing diverse needs within the community through financial support to various causes.
