Seeding Justice builds collective power by transforming philanthropy and funding movements, aiming for the pursuit of justice and liberation for all communities. It envisions a world of imagination, joy, and abundance where everyone has enough, and no one has too much. The organization funds grassroots movements working to dismantle injustices and supports organizations at the forefront of social, racial, gender, disability, economic, and environmental justice. Seeding Justice commits to transforming philanthropy into a practice that is justice-driven, regenerative, and centers the wisdom and agency of communities most impacted by injustice.

Overview

The Rapid Response Grants program provides funding of up to $4,000 for immediate and critical needs of organizations. These grants are designed to address unanticipated opportunities or challenges such as attending a conference, purchasing new technology, or navigating a leadership transition. Suitable scenarios for applying for this grant include organizing community gatherings in response to traumatic events, unexpected organizational challenges, or unique and timely opportunities. A successful applicant for the Rapid Response grant will demonstrate community organizing or leadership development that builds lasting systemic change, an understanding and intentional practice against various forms of oppression, an intersectional approach addressing root causes of issues, leadership by those most impacted by the issues, and active resistance against systems of oppression, violence, and injustice.
