Overview

The UCare Foundation grant program is designed to foster healthier communities by supporting projects that improve access to health services and address the needs of underserved groups. Specifically, the grants are targeted towards initiatives that:

  • Increase access to dental care in Greater Minnesota through various approaches such as expanding the acceptance of new and Medicaid patients, reducing wait times for appointments, following up on missed appointments, implementing teledentistry, and enhancing services at Federally Qualified Health Centers and Critical Access Dental practices.
  • Focus on dental workforce development, particularly in rural and underserved areas, including support for dental assistant training and scholarships.
  • Improve dental access for individuals with disabilities by funding office or clinic accommodations and onsite dental care in group homes and long-term care facilities.

The program offers funding for proposals requesting between $25,000 and $100,000, with consideration for requests exceeding $100,000 for proposals involving partnerships. These grants aim to directly support the UCare mission by aligning with projects that reflect the foundation's core principles and address significant health challenges within their community.
