Overview

The Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's Health (BIRCWH) Career Development Programs aim to foster the development of junior faculty members into productive, independent investigators in interdisciplinary research related to the health of women. The grants support mentored research career development in various domains including basic, translational, behavioral, clinical, and health services research. Importantly, the programs emphasize the inclusion of both sexes in research projects to explore the role of sex as a biological variable. This initiative offers opportunities for Scholars (K12) to lead or participate in clinical trials, ensuring a comprehensive approach to their research and career advancement in women's health.
