The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency — making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.
The Mentored Research Scientist Career Development Award in Tobacco Regulatory Research (K01) aims to provide crucial support and protected time (three, four, or five years) for researchers undergoing intensive, supervised career development experiences in biomedical, behavioral, and social science research. This initiative seeks to inform the development and evaluation of regulations on tobacco product manufacturing, distribution, and marketing. Ultimately, it is designed to assist researchers in achieving independence in their research careers. Projects funded under this grant must align with the research priorities related to the regulatory authority of the FDA's Center for Tobacco Products, as established under the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act.
