We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.

Type of Support

Overview

The USDA Rural Development's Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants program aims to support eligible rural communities in preparing for or recovering from emergencies that compromise safe and reliable drinking water. Supported events include droughts, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, disease outbreaks, chemical spills, and other disasters. The grant focuses on two main areas: water transmission line grants of up to $150,000 for repairs and necessary maintenance to replenish water supply, and water source grants of up to $1,000,000 for the construction of water sources or treatment facilities. This initiative does not require a federal disaster declaration and is designed to mitigate damage and restore access to clean water, which is crucial for both households and businesses, thereby also assisting in the environmental enhancement and economic development of rural areas.
