Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants in Texas

From USDA: Rural Development (RD)

We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.

Type of Support

Overview

The grant program aims to help eligible communities prepare for or recover from emergencies that threaten the availability of safe, reliable drinking water. It addresses a range of emergencies including but not limited to droughts, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes or hurricanes, disease outbreaks, and chemical spills. The funding supports construction and repair projects such as waterline extensions, repairing leaks in water distribution lines, and constructing water sources, intakes, or treatment facilities. Through this support, the program enhances the availability of clean water, mitigates the impact of natural disasters, and promotes the economic development of rural areas by encouraging businesses to locate or expand operations in these regions.
