Type of Support

Overview

The Knight Foundation focuses on promoting engaged communities through various investments. These include improving downtown areas and neighborhoods to make them more livable and economically thriving; enhancing public spaces to foster a deeper connection among residents and their surroundings; creating economic opportunities to attract and retain a diverse population through job creation and entrepreneurship; and transforming cities into “smart cities” that leverage digital technology for responsive, informed community engagement. Projects need to enhance the design and utility of spaces to meet these goals. Applications are by invitation only, requiring a concise project description that aligns with the foundation's focuses.
