Review Criteria

The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation (WRF) gives priority to funding applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrates a clear dedication to advancing educational, economic, social, ethnic, and racial equality.
  • Adopts a clear approach to challenging the existing norms, tackling the fundamental reasons behind inequality, and removing policies and procedures that uphold barriers to fairness.
  • Gives precedence to initiatives led by communities, efforts to build movements, advocacy and policy reform, innovation, and methods that shake up traditional systems as means to initiate change.
  • Ensures the involvement of those most affected by inequality in leading efforts to identify its root causes and devise innovative remedies.
  • Implements a two-generation (2Gen) strategy that simultaneously addresses the requirements and opportunities for both children and adults in families, promoting whole-family approaches.
  • Forms or enhances partnerships and coalitions, recognizing that achieving equity is beyond the capacity of any single organization or sector alone.
  • Is geared towards innovation, strategy, and a focus on the future, aiming to motivate and foster creative solutions that will improve life for all in Arkansas.
  • Has the capability to track, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of the proposed changes, the strategies employed, and the progress achieved.
