Review Criteria

The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation (WRF) gives precedence to funding proposals that embody the following characteristics:

  1. Exhibit a clear dedication to advancing educational, economic, social, ethnic, and racial equity.
  2. Implement a deliberate approach to challenge and transform the prevailing system, aiming to tackle the underlying causes of inequality and eradicate policies and practices that uphold equity barriers.
  3. Value initiatives led by the community, emphasizing movement building, public policy, advocacy, innovation, and the alteration of systemic structures as methods for achieving change.
  4. Ensure the involvement and leadership of individuals directly affected by inequality in identifying its root causes and devising innovative solutions.
  5. Adopt a Two-Generation (2Gen) strategy that focuses on creating opportunities for and addressing the needs of both children and adults in their lives together, promoting whole-family approaches.
  6. Foster or enhance partnerships or coalitions, recognizing that achieving equity is beyond the capacity of any single organization or sector alone.
  7. Are pioneering, strategic, and forward-thinking, aiming to motivate and aid in innovative problem-solving that advances the well-being of all in Arkansas.
  8. Possess the capability to track, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of the proposed changes, strategies deployed, and progress achieved.
