Type of Support

Overview

The WHOI Sea Grant Program Development funds aim to supplement the program's strategic plan goals through financial awards. These funds, generally ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, support small research projects, proof-of-concept studies, and other initiatives like extension, education, communications, and travel that can seed ideas for larger future funding proposals. Projects should align with WHOI Sea Grant’s strategic focus areas: Healthy coastal ecosystems, Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture, Environmental Literacy and Workforce Development, and Resilient Communities and Economies. The intent is to add value to WHOI Sea Grant’s efforts in these areas, with management team decisions on awards made bi-annually.
