The mission of the Alabama Power Foundation is to support community development by investing in initiatives across five key areas: Educational Advancement, Civic and Community Development, Arts and Cultural Enrichment, Health and Human Services, and Environmental Stewardship.

Type of Support

Overview

The Classroom Grants program is designed to alleviate the financial burden on teachers who often fund classroom materials out-of-pocket. Grants of up to $1,000 are offered for resources that enhance classroom environments and student learning capabilities. This initiative supports not only traditional educational materials like books and basic school supplies but also COVID-19 relief efforts, including technology support for virtual learning, cleaning and sanitation supplies, and mental health resources for both students and educators. Nonprofits working with local schools that meet the criteria can apply, aiming to improve educational outcomes and address the pandemic's impacts on education.
