The Allen P. and Josephine B. Green Foundation aims to improve the quality of life in Missouri through grantmaking. Guided by a dedicated Board of Directors, the foundation prioritizes allocations to various initiatives that empower and support Missouri's communities, having disbursed over $17.5 million in grants mainly within the state. The foundation operates with a mission closely linked to enhancing community well-being, education, and support for the underprivileged across Missouri.
The grant program from the Allen P. and Josephine B. Green Foundation supports initiatives within Missouri that relieve human misery, want, and suffering without discrimination against any demographic. It focuses on sectors including healthcare, aid for the disabled, youth services, family strengthening, elderly care, food security, and educational enhancements at all levels. The foundation also lends support to religious organizations, museums, libraries, literacy efforts, restoration, and preservation projects. Moreover, it backs scholarships, educational programs, and initiatives that bolster health, wellness, and community betterment. The grant guidelines emphasize a holistic approach to community development, supporting qualified organizations that contribute positively to Missouri's social fabric.
Funding Preferences
Our focus lies on supporting programs aimed at offering direct assistance to individuals in need through human and social services. We are keen on fostering youth development initiatives and embracing innovative programs geared towards the educational and developmental growth of children. While we support health and hospital-related activities, our funding does not extend to research-based projects.
Our interest also encompasses backing religious organizations that concentrate on strengthening community churches and their social service efforts. Preference is given to projects that are either newly initiated or have not received our funding in the past year. We are particularly attracted to proposals seeking "seed money" to kickstart a project or program. Even though our funding typically does not cover construction or "bricks and mortar", we are open to considering support for facilities if it serves to initiate or enhance a valuable project.
