ASC: Cultural Vision Grants - Individuals

From Arts & Science Council

The designated “Office of Cultural Resources” for the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and six suburban towns focuses on advocacy, cultural education, planning, fundraising, grant making, public art, and workshops for the cultural community. It aims to ensure access to a high-quality, relevant, and sustainable cultural community for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Region by combining local, state, and private resources to maximize community impact.

Type of Support

Overview

The Cultural Vision Grant program is dedicated to fulfilling the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community’s interest in arts, science, history, and heritage programming that fosters strong communities through innovative, relevant, and transformative cultural expressions. ASC supports high-quality projects by creative individuals or nonprofit organizations that aim to build community through connecting distinct groups, celebrating authentic cultures and creative expressions, addressing complex issues through arts, science, and history, or by promoting innovation with new and groundbreaking work. The program prioritizes equity in grantmaking by targeting support towards culturally specific organizations and populations that are often under-invested, including seniors, disabled, immigrants, low-income individuals, women and girls, LGBTQIA+, and people of African, Latinx, Asian, Arab, and Native American descent. Projects should aim to engage broadly across the Mecklenburg County and provide participatory experiences for audiences. Matching funds are required, making ASC’s contribution no more than 50% of the project budget, with a maximum of $10,000.
