The mission of the Burning Foundation is to protect our region's rivers, forest, native fish, and land, focusing on preserving habitats that are part of larger functioning ecosystems in Washington and Oregon.

Overview

This grant provides financial assistance to organizations that engage in teen pregnancy prevention projects in Washington or Oregon. Projects must use evidence-based techniques that effectively reduce teen pregnancy and may include school-based health and education programs, as well as community clinic programs that offer information and services on birth control, choice, and sex education.

Book or film productions, unless part of the funded project
Requests from schools, universities, or their fundraising affiliates
Programs related to energy conservation, alternative energy, nuclear waste, toxics, or global warming
Land/property purchase, or capital campaigns for building construction or renovations
Requests related to gardening programs, or creation/renovation of urban/community parks
Requests related to urban forests
Environmental education programs
Land Trusts primarily agriculturally focused
Requests from farms
Requests for habitat restoration in areas fragmented by agriculture
Requests for habitat restoration not restoring habitat to its native state
Quasi-governmental organizations (e.g., Regional Fisheries Enhancement groups, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Watershed Councils)
Multi-year support requests
Organizations whose LOI or proposal was previously denied, unless a year has passed.
