The mission of the California Energy Commission (CEC) focuses on leading the state to a 100% clean energy future. As the state's primary energy policy and planning agency, the CEC is committed to reducing energy costs and environmental impacts of energy use while ensuring a safe, resilient, and reliable supply of energy.
The California Clean Energy Planning Program (CCEPP) offers up to $1,550,000 in grant funds. This program is designed with a first-come, first-served approach to benefit two main recipients: California Native American tribes and local government entities. It allocates $1,050,000 to support California Native American tribes in planning for a clean energy future and enhancing their participation in statewide clean energy initiatives. An additional $500,000 is aimed at assisting local government entities in creating or revising land use planning documents to promote clean energy development within their jurisdictions.
