Overview

The CPUC's Equity and Access (E&A) Grant Program, established through the California Legislature's appropriation of $30,000,000 in the Budget Act of 2022 (AB 179), offers capacity grants to Tribes and community-based organizations (CBOs). These grants are for participation in CPUC decision-making processes and supporting activities. The Public Participation (PP) Grant is designed to remove financial and capacity-based barriers, allowing for a flexible and accessible application process. Organizations are compensated for participation in CPUC activities such as speaking on panels, participating in working groups, or other decision-making processes. There's a cap of $15,000 per organization to ensure a fair distribution of funds, with submissions accepted on a rolling basis until June 20, 2025, or until funds are depleted.
