The mission of the Arts and Culture Fund is to support the practice, performance, and interpretation of the arts. This is achieved through offering grants to organizations dedicated to these artistic endeavors, particularly those improving access and participation for underserved communities.

Type of Support

Overview

The Community Grants Program awards up to $100,000 twice a year to qualified organizations. This competitive grant process allows for awards ranging from $5,001 to $20,000, aimed at addressing specific community needs. The program supports diverse areas including diversity, equity, inclusion, housing, mental health, criminal justice, education, food security, property purchase, equipment purchase, facilities improvement, and capital campaigns. It also offers assistance for organizations facing financial distress or seeking to improve long-term sustainability, and for initiatives aimed at strengthening the local economy, especially in underserved communities.

Organizations seeking reimbursement for pre-award costs
Organizations looking to pay off existing mortgages
Individuals
Projects with religious purposes
Organizations with many counterparts making merit assessment difficult (e.g., scout troops, ambulance squads, volunteer/municipal fire departments, individual schools within a district, individual school classrooms, PTAs). Exceptions possible based on community need urgency and at the discretion of the Program Officer and Executive Director.
