The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin aims to enhance the betterment of communities in its nine-county service area through the support and management of community funds. Each fund, guided by a local volunteer advisory board, focuses on responding to the evolving needs of the community by distributing grants to various projects and programs.
The grant program overseen by the Janesville Generations Fund aims to distribute funds from five established funds to benefit the Janesville community. These funds, established by individuals and organizations, support various charitable goals within Janesville. The program encourages gifts from anyone in any amount and allows for pledges to be made over a three-year period. The specific charitable funds include the Cabin Fund, Esther S. Geffs Advised Fund, Marion J. and Robert C. Lietz Fund, Karl A. and Bernice E. Samek Charitable Fund, and Mae Theisen Charitable Fund.
